This week is all about mental toughness – without having to jump out of a helicopter or survive in the jungle! Ray Goggins is a Former Army Ranger & Tier 1 Special Operations unit leader. Ray is as tough as they come and is also known from hit TV show Ultimate Hell Week on RTÉ where he has regularly made regular Joe Soaps and some celebs regret ever going on the show. He is author of the best-selling and fascinating book Ranger 22 – Lessons from the Front. He’s an artist, writer, podcaster, comedian, musician, philosopher and is known to wear a plastic bag on his head from time to time. He is one half of the incredible musical duo the Rubberbandits and a man I first came across when we worked together on the TV show The Republic of Telly. The unique, funny and always creative Blindboy Boatclub is my guest this week.

Blindboy is eloquent, open, honest and refreshingly funny about his neurodiversity and has helped so many young people deal with anxiety and other mental health issues. I sat down with Blindboy in a tent in a field in Stradbally Co. Laois. It was the Electric Picnic Festival and The Mind Full Podcast was part of the famous Mindfield. This week on The Mind Full Podcast we are so excited to bring you an incredible guest in the form of one of social media’s content pioneers. For the last 12 years, Cork man Cian Twomey has been a comedy content creator, focusing mainly on character sketches depicting hilarious real-life scenarios. Over all social media platforms, Cian has gathered over 9 million followers, with his videos exceeding a total of 4 billion views. That is mind boggling! Despite his enormous audience, Cian does not do many interviews. This is only his second ever long form interview and the very first time he has spoken in depth about his recent ADHD diagnosis. 

The Strengths of Neurodiversity is our topic for today and I’m also delighted to be joined by clinical psychologist and star of TV’s Operation Transformation Dr. Eddie Murphy. Eddie has such a great mind and a great way of making complex concepts accessible and we’re going to do our best to make the area of neurodivergence including the likes of ADHD as understandable as possible.

But is there real science behind it and, if so,  just what is the correct way to practice it so that we see real tangible benefits? Well, one incredible lady who can truly vouch for its effectiveness is this week’s special guest. I am so happy to bring you this wonderful conversation with an amazing lady at the top of her game! 

Angela Scanlon has recently taken over from Graham Norton at Virgin Radio in the UK presenting her own weekend show, has been a regular face on RTÉ, BBC and Channel 4 TV over the last ten years, appearing in shows like BBC's One Show, Robot Wars, Your Home Made Perfect and Strictly Come Dancing.

Heavily involved in fashion from an early age, she has fronted campaigns for the likes of Louis Vuitton and has written a bestselling book Joyrider - How Gratitude Can Get You the Life You Really Want. And it’s that gratitude we want to zone in on in this episode. Angela speaks to me from her UK home and talks about how insecurity and imposter syndrome had her struggling badly at a time when everyone thought she was living the perfect life. Learn how her finding gratitude shaped how she perceives the world and how her new star role on radio has come just at the right time.
