Do you feel like your business is spinning out of control without systems? If you don’t even know where to start, it’s time to take a look at the big picture and get clear on how your business should support your lifestyle.
Today’s conversation with Jodi Silverman is the first guest episode of the year! And it’s different than the previous guest chats you’re used to. Jodi booked a back office assessment with me last summer (while I was on vacation). So during our chat we talk about what she needed help with, how the assessment reduced her anxiety, and the clarity she got in her business as we worked together implementing her action plan which helped her narrow her focus and led to the growth she was looking for without the overwhelm.
2:47 - Who Jodi Silverman is and what she does at Moms Who Dare®
5:26 - Insight into what was happening in Jodi’s business that motivated her to get help
7:44 - What Jodi expected the action plan to look like versus what she actually received
13:17 - How communicating through Voxer helped calm Jodi’s nerves and helped her stay focused on the right tasks
16:23 - How being organized helped Jodi see all of the moving pieces of her business and get clarity
19:20 - Hear how things are going now that Jodi ignored the shiny objects and is being more strategic in her business

With a little duct tape and elbow grease, anything is possible…
Duct tape is a quick, short term fix until a more permanent fix, which requires more money, can be arranged later. So when you use this “quick fix” approach to running your business, you are setting yourself up for frustration and eventually failure.
In today’s episode I share some simple changes you can make to remove the duct tape from your operations, create a strong business foundation and experience growth without being overwhelmed.

Running an online business doesn't mean everything has to depend on you.
The Mind Your Time podcast is for established online business owners, entrepreneurs and service-based…
I'm Shannon Baker, a Capacity Systems Strategist with more than 25 years of experience helping entrepreneurs improve how work gets done. I help women recognize where their online business depends on them more than it should, decide what actually needs their attention first, and make changes so everything doesn’t depend on them.
On the podcast we talk about what that looks like in real life:
- Clients who have too much access to you
- Team members who can do the work but still need you to tell them what happens next
- Processes that live in your head
- Decisions that keep coming back to you
- Work you've delegated but end up doing yourself
This podcast will help you answer questions like:
- How do I build an online business that runs without me?
- What actually needs my attention as an online business owner?
- Why does everything in my business still depend on me?
- When should I stop doing something myself and hand it off?
- Why isn't delegating saving me more time?
- What business systems do I need to save time?
- How do I set better boundaries with my clients?
- Why does my team still need me to answer every question?
- How do I keep my business running when I take time off?
The goal isn't to remove yourself from your business. It's to make sure everything doesn't require you. I believe your time is accessible, but not "Open Access."
So if you're ready for some time-saving tips and strategies so you have more time to lead your business, grab your coffee and join me for a conversation.
