In this episode, I mention my reasoning for staying in academia was tied to all the ways I wanted to fix the education system and thought I would be able to do so if I got my PhD. I wanted to prevent the harm that I had endured while in the education system. I took on a responsibility for fixing an issue created by the very founders of the education system we have in the US. The education system was constructed by colonizers and is reinforced by all of us participating in it.
