Mitzi takes Jamie-Lyn to the Come On Inn for Happy Hour this week ... because she had to. Fortunately there was alcohol a-flowin' to get them through this episode.

The Drink du Jour:

Old-Fashioned

2 oz bourbon whiskey (or Southern Comfort)

2 dashes Angostura® bitters

1 splash water

1 tsp sugar

1 maraschino cherry

1 orange wedge

Mix sugar, water and angostura bitters in an old-fashioned glass. Drop in a cherry and an orange wedge. Muddle into a paste using a muddler or the back end of a spoon. Pour in bourbon (or SoCo), fill with ice cubes, and stir.

2 oz Vodka

1 3/4 oz Rose's lime juice or other lime cordial

Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice cubes. Stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Tom Collins

1 1/2 ounces gin

1 ounce lemon juice

1/2 ounce simple syrup

Club soda

Maraschino cherry for garnish

Lemon slice for garnish

Pour the gin, lemon juice, and sugar syrup in a collins glass with ice cubes. Stir thoroughly. Top with club soda. Garnish with the cherry and orange slice. Note: Sometimes a mixing tin is placed on the glass and the mix is given a quick shake prior to adding the soda.

The Drink du Jour:

Singapore Sling

1 1/2 ounces gin

1 ounce lemon juice

1/4 ounce simple syrup

1 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar

2 ounces club soda

1/2 ounce cherry brandy, kirsch, or Cherry Heering

Lemon slice for garnish

Maraschino cherry for garnish

Pour the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and powdered sugar into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into a highball glass with ice cubes. Pour in the club soda. Float the cherry brandy on top by pouring it over the back of a bar spoon. Garnish with the lemon slice and cherry.

(Floater: 1/2 oz 151-Proof Rum)

Mix ingredients in shaker. Pour into tall glass with ice. Top with 151 Rum. Garnish with lemon, orange and cherry.
