We talk about Puerto Rican family and culture, why he quit his day job to focus on his artistic career, and the societal pressure to feel happy all the time. Jeremie's brand is full of honesty--he shares his ups AND his downs on social media, which has earned him a loyal following that is always eager to hear his perspective on everything from art and culture to veganism and social activism. We even sneak in some of his tips for Instagram!

On this episode of Spaceport Radio, Mr. Haunt and I discuss two things that on the surface sound extremely cynical and jaded (and even counter-intuitive to any kind of creative endeavor) but have helped us both feel extremely accomplished and free in our lives and careers. The first concept is to know your limitations, to know that you cannot be good at all the things you need to do to, whatever that is. The second is to know when to give up. We also talk about some famous and successful people that utilize these ideas, including Penn Jillette and (ugh) Tom Brady. We get a little sports heavy in order to show just that no matter how great an athlete might be, they still need a lot of help and a lot of luck, and manifesting both those things consistently in order to succeed is perhaps their most important skill.

There are many myths that keep people from getting started on, or sticking with, their creative business ideas. The three big ones that I have heard over the years, and that have kept me from starting much earlier in my life, are related to market saturation, perceived limited income potential, and the dismissal of ideas simply because they are not original or first to market. I talk with Mr. Haunt about these myths, using our highly subjective and personalized mechanisms to debunk them all, and to share our insight into why none of that matters now. We even discuss a bonus myth: moving to New York City as a necessary means to make it. Spoiler alert: It may actually just hurt your chances and make you miserable.
