We all know that person that seems to drain the life out of a room as soon as they enter. Everything seems great until their infectious attitude impedes on your personal space.

It’s enough to derail your entire day if you let it. One thing leads to another and before you know it, you and “Negative Nancy” are on a rant fest for the ages.

You know what they say… “Misery loves company.”

But wait… What if you chose not to entertain such negativity in your life? imagine for a second you instead filtered out the negative people, messages, and posts that try to come into your life? How would things be then?

It’s called intentional living and trust me, it’s something that you should definitely work on doing!

Andrej Suttles and I sat down to discuss the three steps we can all take in order to live intentionally and practice positivity in our everyday life. With a more positive outlook on things you can enjoy more happiness and fulfillment across the board.

But you have to make the decision to do so!

The steps are easily said but often times hard to fully implement.

* Avoid Negativity (Non-negotiable) * Choose Positivity (See The Glass Half Full)* Spread The Love (Give Compliments or Simply Smile at Strangers)

The three steps above are the perfect way you can start practicing positivity and begin changing your mindset and your surroundings when it comes to how you see the world.

This is a story about two brothers. Bonded not by blood, but by business, hard times, and faith. It’s a bond men everywhere hope for but often times can be deprived of.

When you have someone to share your experiences with, the hard times become a little more bearable. The good times are that much sweeter. The accountability you get is sure to multiply your growth.

Jim and James of JimGear are the perfect example of what a strong friendship and bond can produce. A connection founded on tragedy and grown through faith led to the solution to a problem a lot of us deal with… TOO MANY BAGS!

If you’re like me, you have a bag for work, a bag for the gym, and a lunchbox for your meals and shakes. Add your morning coffee, and those hands get full really quick!

For Jim and James, this was a problem they no longer wanted to tolerate. Together they would design a bag that can hold your essentials for work, clothes for the gym and everything in between. Add the durability to withstand the busiest of schedules and you get JimGear.

Jim and James sat down to share with me some of the challenges they faced while starting the company. Discipline and persistence would allow them to overcome obstacles like finding a manufacturer in the United States to build the bag.

Drive, purpose and a rich military heritage is stitched in every bag with portions of their profits going to military families across the country each month.

It’s not easy leaving your comfort zone…

I know I always say; growth starts where your comfort zone ends, but it’s the comfort zone that makes us feel so, well… Comfortable!

When we stay within what’s safe for an extended period of time, we easily fall into a rhythm or routine. One that often doesn’t serve our ultimate goals.

Finally, One day we stop, look in the mirror and realize we want so much more for ourselves. This is where the desire begins.

As Philip Sessions says, next comes the work. Once you decide what you want to do or who you want to become, just start doing it! It will be uncomfortable at first, but before you know it, things will get easier.

So, what did we discover?

First, accountability is about relationships. Relationships with others and a relationship with yourself.

When we think of accountability, we often think of trainers, business coaches, and mentors. These are some of the main forms of accountability partners you may find.

Andrej and I discuss the importance of seeking discomfort and asking others to keep you accountable. We also dive into the importance of asking for permission before dropping the hammer on someone else unexpectedly.
