The Unconscious: Seemingly Unimportant Decisions

Addiction is a complex condition. It works in mysterious ways that need to be uncovered if we're going to restore ourselves to health. SUD's, or Seemingly Unimportant Decisions, are choices that we make that we're unaware of and that facilitate our sex and porn addictions. To reduce the risk of relapse, it's important to take SUD's out of the darkness of our unconscious and to understand how they lead to our damaging behavior. Doing so, makes it easier to eradicate or to neutralize them.

Harm Reduction

Harm reduction has existed within the treatment of substance addictions for decades. The idea is that on the way to abstinence, or as a goal on its own, the reduction of collateral damage to the addict, loved ones and the broader society is a worthwhile goal.

But, a fair question is: Does harm reduction apply to behavioral addictions in the same way that it does substance addictions? The answer is yes. Harm reduction strategies are useful for behavioral addictions like porn and sex addiction.
