It’s Thursday, July 11th. I’m Lucas Dixon, and here’s your local news from the Modesto Bee. Our top story is: Lee’s Chinese Kitchen, a restaurant mainstay in the city since it opened in 1973, is back serving up sweet and sour pork, egg foo young, and its beloved garlic chicken. The north McHenry Avenue eatery was forced to close after a fire in June 2017 severely damaged the back of the building, and destroyed its kitchen.
