Srila Chatterjee, Co-founder of BARO.

Srila spent 25 years running a film production house before she wanted to shift gears and move on to follow her passion for art and design and opened BARO, a furniture and art store in Mumbai.

She was always passionate about art and design, especially Indian art.

She curated the famous Kala Ghoda Arts Festival in its early days and co-founded Blue Frog, one of the most iconic music spaces in the country.

BARO attempts to change perceptions of people towards native art from various parts of India. It features art from renowned Indian artists like Gond artist Ramesh Takam from Bhopal, Sanjay Chitara who specialises in Mata ni pachedi art, Phad artist and master Kalyan Joshi, and award-winning artist Pranab Narayan Das and others.

Danish Husain is an actor, poet, storyteller, and a theatre director. He started his career in theatre with 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 and went on to work with directors like Habib Tanvir, Rajinder Nath, M.S. Sathyu, M.K. Raina, Sunil Shanbag, Sabina Mehta Jaitly, & Naseeruddin Shah. He was instrumental in reviving the lost art form of Urdu storytelling Dastangoi. 

He runs his own theatre company The Hoshruba Repertory in Mumbai. 

His major film work includes India's entry to Oscar 2018 - Newton (2017), Soorma (2018), Baazaar (2018), Ankhon Dekhi (2013), Dhobi Ghat (2010), and Peepli Live (2010) & the recent Netflix series Bombay Begums (2021).

Immaculate Antony is a visionary, a social entrepreneur who kickstarted an initiative to create fun toys and board games for children.

There are over 100+ games available, recreated by local artisans in an environmentally friendly way, using non-toxic colours, wooden and cloth boards. In order to sustain the cycle of engaging artisans and their craft.

She is passionately researching towards reviving the traditional Indian games. It is like a treasure that must be passed on to the next generation.

Her journey is an example of how a little bit of effort can take centuries of cultural expression to be the pedestal of societal values and virtues. Her love for her work is indefatigable.

Jas Dosanjh is a writer, an author and an entrepreneur. She's written a series of memoirs called Life Out Of Reach and her first two books Spare Burden and Not The Property Of are already out on Amazon.

Her memoirs focus on her upbringing as a child of immigrants and being the second eldest daughter in a family of seven children.

The Bengal Monsoon Kalboisakhi - is like a painting of dark strokes against the dilapidated colonial facade of the buildings and the city landscape.

But in the villages it remains the most feared and fiercest storm that Bengal is witness to every year. It is the arrival of the Kalboisakhi. The clouds get darker and the river rises up to the edges. The silence around this impending doom is known among all the folks who live on the edge of the river banks. It is also called the Norwesters.

This storm that has a ghostly glee and a hiss of a deadly snake as it devours trees and boats into its dark abyss. In this dark is the fear of the boatsmen with their prayers, courage and love stories.
