  • Ep 11: Strong as a Mother: A Woman’s 5 Year Journey Through Infertility with Marissa DiSimone

If you and your partner have been struggling with infertility, and/or are currently going through fertility treatments, join us for this very intimate conversation with Marissa DiSimone. Marissa began her journey to motherhood when she was 27 years old, not knowing that she would be faced with inexplicable infertility challenges. It was not until a month shy of her 33rd birthday that Marissa and her husband, Michael, welcomed their first child into the world after a long process with fertility treatments. Currently pregnant with her second - a baby girl due in October - Marissa is sharing her story in hopes that it might provide information and light in what can seem like a very dark tunnel.

  • Ep 6: Labor Doulas, Covid, & a Vaginal Breech Birth with Labor Doula, Denise Woods

In this episode, we get into two very big and important topics: labor doulas and vaginally delivering a breech baby, specifically, one that is the frank breech position. My dear friend, labor doula, yoga teacher, dancer, and fellow mama, Denise Woods, discusses her experience as a labor doula and the important roles that they play in a woman’s journey to giving birth. Especially for first-time mamas, it can be confusing trying to decide if you should have a doula during these COVID times when the doula can’t even go into the room with you. We address that in this episode.

Then we switch gears to discuss something very rare, which is Denise’s vaginal delivery of her son, Lennon, who was in the Frank Breech position. She found out at 38 ½ weeks and did everything she could to turn him before ultimately surrendering to his chosen ideal position, and subsequently scrambling to scrap her dream of a home birth and find a care provider in Los Angeles who would be willing to facilitate a vaginal breech birth. Finding care providers that deliver breech babies vaginally is a dying art, so this was more challenging than you might think. Tune in for the details - and listen to the end for a special offer to view Denise’s birth!

  • Ep 2: How the First 6 Months Postpartum is Akin to Being in Quarantine with Positive Discipline Parenting Coach, Estela De Wulf

Join me this week as I sit down - virtually, of course - to chat with my positive discipline parenting coach, Estela De Wulf, about how the first 6 months of motherhood with a new baby are much like being in quarantine. We discuss three really important steps that she believes can make all the difference in welcoming a baby into the family, as well as the four essential elements you need to establish in yours and your baby’s life once they have arrived. We talk about when she, as a parenting coach, would ideally like to start working with families (spoiler alert: it’s before the baby is even a concept), the detriment of the Martyr complex, what really establishes a solid emotional, physical and spiritual foundation for children and families, and so much more!

If you’re pregnant, thinking about getting pregnant, or in the first 6-12 months of the throws of life as “mom,” this episode is for you.
