Sunsets, birdlife, historic buildings; many of us take pictures when we’re visiting Morecambe Bay.
Professional photographer Darren Andrews has made a career of taking amazing images for the Morecambe Visitor newspaper and more recently for a whole series of commissions.
His ‘eye’ for a shot is extraordinary and his love for the resort, the people who live there and visitors (human and otherwise) is evident in his stunning work. You can see more of his work at darrenandrewsphotos.co.uk
When the tide is in and if the weather is good (or sometimes even if it isn’t) there’s a good chance you’ll see people taking a dip in the sea near the Clock Tower in the middle of Morecambe.
Over the past few years a growing number have taken to sea swimming, praising the health and social benefits a swim in the Bay brings. M.A.L.L.O.W.S. - the Morecambe and Lancaster Lancashire Open Water Swimmers - now has well over 2,500 supporters on their Facebook page.
In this edition, swimmers Nye O’Neil, new sea swimming convert Sarah Patterson and Jon Gibirdi, who set up the Facebook page, tell us about their experiences in the Bay.
Beware - their enthusiasm is infectious and you too could find yourself taking a dip!
