Barnes, Leslie and Crash speak with Kevin McKinney, a passenger on the Delta flight from Atlanta to Columbia, South Carolina, that made an emergency landing after smoke filled the cabin. Kevin recounts how passengers first noticed an electrical smell before takeoff and how the situation escalated once airborne. Surprisingly, oxygen masks never deployed, and passengers were told to breathe through their clothes. Kevin texted his fiancée during the ordeal, unsure of the outcome. After landing, passengers evacuated via emergency slides, with able-bodied travelers helping others. Delta later offered a $1,000 e-credit to those affected. Kevin, undeterred, took another flight just hours later.
