James continues his very practical description of what it means to be an apprentice of Jesus by talking about something common to every human being: the tongue. And in his description, James not only tells us how destructive our tongue can be, but also gives hope to talk about how redemptive and healing it can be as well. If we are a follower of Jesus today, we would be wise to heed James' passionate plea to watch our tongue.
