Wasilla Republican Rep. David Eastman & Member of The Oath Keepers sparked outrage online after asking whether there could be economic benefits from the death of abused Alaskan children. Eastman said that he had heard an argument, on occasion, that when child abuse is fatal, it could economically benefit a society. “It can be argued, periodically, that it’s actually a cost-saving because that child is not going to need any of those government services that they might otherwise be entitled to receive and need based on growing up in this type of environment,” he said. Can you say that again? Did you say, a benefit for society?’ asked Trevor Storrs, president, and CEO of the Alaska Children’s Trust, in response. He said the loss of a child is “unmeasurable” to a family.  From Anchorage Daily News  Still crazies in the air. Fellow passengers on United Flight 2609 subdued 32-year-old Francisco Severo Torres, of Leominster, Massachusetts, after he allegedly tried to open an emergency exit door midflight and stabbed a flight attendant multiple times on March 5, 2023. Who is going to step to really get us on the right track and allow us to get through this crazy time? WOMEN! ever wonder why men think they should dominate women? They can't. We are strong decision makers especially when we pool our resources. From the Grandmothers, Mothers, Sisters, Daughters, Aunts, and family we know what to do, even when we don't know what to do. We make a way out of no way. Who are the Phenomenal Women in your life? Who decides who is Phenomenal? You’re not forgotten‘: how the right racialized the Ohio train disaster. The derailment of a 50-car freight train carrying toxic materials on 3 February shattered daily life in East Palestine and sent a pall of black smoke over the region. Potentially lethal chemicals spewed into the air, ground, and water. American nativist fearmongering, Tucker Carlson. “East Palestine is overwhelmingly white, and it’s politically conservative,"  “That shouldn’t be relevant, but it very much is.” Then he contrasted such hardship with what he called the “favored poor” who live in “favored cities” i.e. Detroit and Philadelphia – a clear euphemism for urban centers, often led by Democratic mayors, with large Black populations.

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Also known as African American History Month, the event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world, including Canada and the United Kingdom, also devote a month to celebrating Black History. DID YOU KNOW? The NAACP was founded on February 12, 1909 President Gerald Ford officially recognized Black History Month in 1976, calling upon the public to “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.” Today, Black History Month is a time to honor the contributions and legacy of African Americans across U.S. history and society—from activists and civil rights pioneers.  The Black History Month 2023 theme, “Black Resistance,” explores how "African Americans have resisted historic and ongoing oppression, in all forms, especially the racial terrorism of lynching, racial programs, and police killings," since the nation's earliest days.
