Over the past few years the 2023 MXGP World Champion Jorge Prado has been talking about his interest in coming to the US for some Supercross. Unfortunately in the past, the opportunity never arose due to contract stipulations he recently revealed. Prado explained in a recent interview that Red Bull Gas Gas wanted him to strictly focus on MXGP in 2023.

Well after this year's Motocross Of Nations the team's tune changed. Apparently now they are going to allow him to at least test supercross here in the United States. Whether or not he’s actually going to attend some races in 2024 is currently unknown.

But in recent days Prado has been at KTM / GasGas headquarters in California and today we got to see him riding a supercross track for the first time. Let's take a look.

Japanese sensation Jo Shimoda is set to make a triumphant return to Honda in the upcoming seasons, as he has officially inked a deal with Team Honda HRC that extends through 2024 and 2025. This significant move paves the way for Hunter Lawrence's impending shift to the premier class.

At the age of 21, Shimoda will be joining forces with Chance Hymas to ride the factory CRF250Rs in the upcoming season. Meanwhile, the Lawrence brothers, Jett and the soon-to-be-official Hunter, are poised to take the helm in the highly competitive 450 class.

Shimoda's journey with Honda in the United States began in 2017 when he joined the Factory Connection amateur program. He made the transition to the professional circuit with the Geico-backed team at the close of 2019. In 2021, following the closure of the Factory Connection team, he made a switch to the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team. However, he has now come full circle and returned to Honda under the factory HRC banner.

Spanish native Guillem Farres is the latest and final addition to the 2024 Rockstar Energy Husqvarna 250 class lineup alongside Casey Cochran and RJ Hampshire.

Farres made his first appearance in American pro motocross last year after Star Yamaha picked him up as a fill in rider. Before that he was an EMX250 / MX2 world championship rider for a small KTM team backed by Raths Motorsports, working in a grocery store during the week.

In 2022 he had finished just outside the top 5 twice in the EMX250 championship and around the same running inside the top 10 in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross in the couple rounds he raced.  

Onto 2023 and he had high expectations, in the first two rounds of pro motocross he finished 8th at Fox Raceway and 7th at Hangtown. Unfortunately his season came to a very early halt due to a bad first turn crash at round 3 in Thunder Valley.

Red bull KTM MXGP rider Jeffrey Herlings had a very up and down season, he came back after missing all of 2022 and became the winningest rider in MXGP history this year. Not too long after that he sustained a neck injury in Germany knocking him out a few rounds back in June. Here’s that crash.

Manluk Rock River Yamaha rider from the United States Grant Harlan had the opportunity to ride for team Guam at this year's Motocross Of Nations in Ernee, France. Although he wanted to take some time off after a long year, he took the opportunity to go to the prestigious event.

There were quite a few gnarly crashes at this weekend's Motocross Of Nations in Ernee, France, but I think this one takes the cake. I saw a clip of it going around yesterday but nobody knew who it was for sure. 

After a deep dive I found out it was Team Finland rider Jere Haavisto. Now before I show you the clip I wanted to let you know he hasn't released a formal update after the crash, nor has the team but they did say he was alright. No injuries so that's a plus.

Sexton will debut on his #1 KTM race bike at the 2024 Supercross Championship opening Anaheim 1 in California on January 6. The Illinois native will switch to #4 for the AMA Pro Motocross Championship, as he selected the single digit number as his new career number.

About a month ago Colt Nichols was announced as the final signed rider for Liqui Moly Beta for the 2024 season and a few months ago Benny Bloss signed with them. Since then they haven't been able to ride the 450 machine. They have been testing a 300 two stroke which is odd in my opinion. 

After a few weeks of just riding the two strokes, I finally asked Benny in the comments of his post when he’ll ride the 450 and he said not until October. Well here we are in October and we finally get to see them on the 450 Beta machine.

Jett Lawrence’s decision to let Ken Roczen by in Moto 2 of the Chicagoland SMX playoff has certainly received its fair share of criticism from racers, media, and the community but now the AMA has stepped in and given their official take on this.

They released a penalty report that included Jett but claimed it was just a warning and he wouldn't be penalized in any way. While a written warning won't have an impact on the results from Chicagoland, it does shine light on the stance AMA Pro Racing has on situations like this.
