An epitome of a Lookout Mtn, Georgia couple who raised a family in Fairyland for decades, Edward and Wendy Taliaferro have done it all on Lookout. Please join in and hear about how this couple, became a family and survived military service and began their lives together on this mountain. Ed graciously and humbly tells his story of service, uncertainty, family and the beginnings of life on Lookout with two sons - Robby and Ricky.

Wow - where to begin? Graham Burns is a true Lookout Treasure and she recently sat to share with the Mountain Echo listeners about her family, her life on Lookout and her recent trip to London to attend the coronation of King Charles III. 

From her wonderful home (also her childhood home) on the brow, well-loved Graham graciously shares about her parents- The Walkers, her family with Bud, raising 7 children, the Caulkins School, some of the neighborhood families and children who attended the famous 'Caulkins School' with Nancy Caulkins, mountain real estate, her FIRST coronation for Elizabeth, her second coronation ceremony for Charles and world travel to Europe, Greece and Egypt. The Great Pyramid finally got to meet The Great Graham Burns! Such fun stories and memorable times - thank you Lady Graham, you did a wonderful job!

In this very timely and informative episode, Director of Lookout's community summer camp, 'Commons Camp' informs parents about the benefits and traditions of this favorite summer experience for neighborhood children. Gwin also opens up and shares about her childhood on Lookout, meeting her husband John, attending Commons Camp herself and finally about how the camp currently functions. Parents of neighborhood children ages of 5 and up will want to be aware of and familiar with the basics of the camp and Gwin does a great job of covering the objective info and she gives a great feel for the camp environment with anecdotes and heartfelt stories. Upbeat - brave - honest - fighter - tough - fearless - hopeful - beautiful
These are some of the first words that come to mind when you listen to the amazing Amy J Hill. Her story is real, it is powerful, and it is hopeful.

Moving to Lookout Mountain from Atlanta in early 2022, the Hill family has settled in nicely on the Georgia side of the community and their wonderful son is enjoying Fairyland School.

It's not really like other mountain courses...rather, it's more of a course... on a 'cloud'.

Carter, Lupton, Probasco, Davenport, Oehmig, Dye, and of course Raynor - these are some of the many names who have all been an instrumental part of an amazing story, 100 years in the making. Hear from the wonderful mind, and heart, of Doug Stein about not just the golf course on Lookout but also about his family, growing up here and his many friends from over the years. This is a really powerful episode of time, vision, passion, dreams and especially determination. Doug does an excellent job of sharing with listeners about his great memories from growing up in this community and even raising his children here and his love of this community. Hear about everything from the great ice storm of 1960 to the building of Covenant College and even movie stars who came to Lookout. 

It is a joy to listen to Doug share what is clearly a life passion for him as his talks about his family, his friends and the course at Lookout Mountain. 

This episode offers a true deep dive on the actual golf holes and their layouts and, it goes into some great detail about the current, exciting renovations. 
At times, the listeners may even feel like Doug is actually channeling Seth Raynor himself as he describes the layout and vision of the course. 

Oh, and what a May it will be! As the anticipated opening of the course sometime late next spring, the opening of this long-awaited and much anticipated "ultimate upgrade" will occur.  The Stein name joins the list of these special folks all of whom have been passionate on this journey.

So, until then, please listen and enjoy the truly excellent effort by Doug to share the history, vision and hopes for this wonderful asset in our community.
