  • Uncut Gems (2019)
This month's theme - July - is "comedians in serious roles" and what better way to start the theme than to review The Safdie Brother's 2019 thriller Uncut Gems, starring Adam Sandler, Idina Menzel, Julia Fox, LaKieth Stanfield, and Kevin Garnett.  Tune in as Mark and Jeff go back and forth about why this film is a classic...or not (also why Sandler was snubbed for awards consideration for his role)?  The film is streaming on Netflix.

  • American Psycho (2000)
In this final June 2021 episode - concluding the "serial killer" theme - Jeff and Mark review the 2000 cult-classic film American Psycho, directed by Mary Harron, starring Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, Reese Witherspoon, Justin Theroux, Josh Lucas, and Jared Leto.
The IMDB synopsis..."A wealthy New York City investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies."
Listen in as we debate whether or not Christian Bale's performance is considered an all-time great or if it was just enough to establish him as a A-list Hollywood actor.
We also draft July 2021's movies for review...."Comedic Actors in Serious Roles".
