This is episode 29 of The Mr. Mike Podcast: Wrong Answers Only, with special guest Andrew Chevrier. Essentially, this is part two of our interview with Andrew in episode 28. Here, we had a great chat about collecting hockey cards, the hobby industry, hockey in general, and the Montreal Canadiens. Enjoy.
Andrew Chevrier is a teacher, researcher, amateur musician, comedian, game designer, motivational speaker and mindfulness coach. He started teaching ESL ten years ago. Over 10 years, he has composed roughly 50 songs, on all kinds of themes, and animated over a dozen funny stories to accompany them. He started making Roblox games to accompany the songs and stories, and developed a motivational system that works with mindfulness to help keep learners engaged.
He went back to university to pursue a masters degree, with his ESL program as the basis of his research project. He organized his activity sheets into a workbook that he made available to other teachers for free on his Facebook page. Andrew also started presenting his program at conferences.
Jonathan Fuller
Ever since laying his first Lego brick, Jonathan has been fascinated by world-building. This passion grew during his younger years in the Midwest, leading him to study English in college. After graduating, he experienced the usual existential crisis of English majors who don’t want to be teachers and bounced through several professions including a stint in the military. Throughout this journey he worked closely with his dear friend, Kristina Kelly, on a science fantasy book series that has, after over a decade of labor, finally found a home. The Etherea Cycle represents many things to him, but it is first and foremost a testament to the power of friendship and the beauty of life in all its forms.
An ardent fan of science fiction and fantasy, Jonathan can talk about anime, cars, and RPGs ad infinite. He is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and currently resides in Texas where he enjoys playing flag football and attending all the concerts and festivals he can.
Kristina Kelly
Since childhood, writing stories on her parents’ typewriter or cataloging her own books like a library, Kristina has been in love with storytelling. A writer of poetry, short stories, and novels, her SFF series, the Etherea Cycle, is written with her friend, Jonathan Fuller. What spawned out of their mutual love for science fiction and fantasy books, shows, and video games, blends what they love from both genres.
Kristina currently resides in Indiana with her husband, two sons, and black lab. Her undergraduate pursuits focused on Psychology, Music, and Computer Science. With trumpet as her main instrument, and a connection to nature, Kristina often works music and visual landscapes into her writings. In her spare time, Kristina takes photography, plays video games, and tends to her flower garden. She loves going on new adventures in the great wide somewhere (sometimes just by picking up a new book).
Welcome to Episode 26 where I had the pleasure of interviewing author, Robert French. Robert French is a software developer, turned actor, turned author who was born in Oxford, England, and was brought up in the East End of London. At age 26, he emigrated from the UK to Canada “for a couple of years”; he has been there ever since. He is the writer of the seven (so far) Cal Rogan crime thrillers about a drug-addicted ex-cop who fights his way from living rough on the streets to being a much-sought-after PI. Robert is passionate about the beauty of having the right words on the page and with every new book, His goal is to make it better than the previous one.
Carrie Carter has a profound love for Japan, cats, sumo, dioramas, and eating unusual foods. She has traveled with her husband Jim to Japan fourteen times, so her numerous holidays across her favorite country were the inspiration for her first book, Whiskers Abroad: A Human and A Feline Perspective on Traveling in Japan. Carrie has run multiple marathons including the Tokyo Marathon, and as expected, Carrie and Jim live with an adorable cat named Frenemy, who was unhappy at not being selected as the model for the book. Carrie lives in Houston, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. At home, she loves to cook, design/create Halloween costumes, and daydream about meeting Jacques Pepin. She dislikes overly dramatic music used in reality TV shows. Currently, Carrie is working on her second book, a sequel to Whiskers Abroad, where Audrey and Ashi explore further into Japan and get themselves into even more interesting predicaments.
