It's a rapidly changing world, and we're all trying to make sense of it. The coronavirus pandemic, COVID-19 global shutdown, is in full swing, but as of the date of this recording, none of us know how it is going to turn out, or what changes it will bring.
The MultiPod has gathered two stalwarts from the Puttytribe, Heather U-K and Rita JC, in a conversation about our thoughts, feelings, worries, hopes and predictions. In this time of isolation and quarantine, we hope to give some comfort and perspective, and keep you company as best we can.
Today on The MultiPod, we take you to the countryside of rural Tennessee and speak with Marie, comfortably ensconced therein with her husband and daughter, chickens and dogs, with acres of space and oodles of fresh air.
It sounds idyllic, and it is! But it certainly takes some preparation, planning and proper mindset.
Today we have a very important episode for you, something a little different. We're coming out of February, the depths of winter, the low point of the sun. Two months into the new year, and time is creeping up on us. We're each dealing with some pressure and stress, anxiety and major life changes that are a test to our well-being.
Your co-hosts for today, Vanessa, Sara and Ted, decided it was the right time to assess the state of our mental health.
We're open, we're raw and we don't pull any punches. And it ended up being quite cathartic, getting our thoughts, feelings and experiences out there.
If you are in need of a boost, some company and hopefully people to relate to; if you're experiencing some of the overwhelm and stress that big change brings, then we encourage you to join us and follow along with the conversation.
How does a freelancer start freelancing? How does a multipotentialite choose a career or profession? Today's guest on The MultiPod, Leah Waig, shares her story of putting 2 +2 together to set off on an unexpected journey full of twists, turns and nose-following.
It all adds up to an inspiring tale of being open, aware and persistent in finding work and opportunities, something that will hopefully encourage you to take action, put one foot in front of the next and embrace the journey.
Mulitpotentialites have so many passions, so much on the go, and only so much time.
How to balance it all?
What if we could approach this challenge not with the intention of balancing everything equally, but with the ability to measure the value and importance of each passion, to give each its most effective quotient?
This is what Niyoosha has proposed for us, and she joins Vanessa today on The MultiPod to explore what it means, and how it all works.
The MultiPod makes it to their 50th episode, just over two years since launching, and we pause to reflect on the milestone with one of the Puttytribe's longest-serving and most influential members, Neil Hughes.
Neil is a self-employed specialist in mental health, overcoming anxiety, public speaking, stand-up comedy and a twice-published author. He joins us from his home in Liverpool, UK to share his insight into commitment, perseverance and the rewards of sticking with your ideas and seeing projects through to their completion.
Motivating stuff, coupled with a hearty MultiPod celebration!
In the always exciting, always challenging world of parenting, what are the strengths of multipotentialites? Are we more adaptable, better responsive, open and flexible to our kids' needs and interests? And to what extent can multipotentiality be nurtured? How much is dependent on environment, and how much on genes?
Host Ted and guest Matt G from Australia, both dads of two young kids, gather to chat about these questions and share crib notes about parenting.
If you're a parent yourself, especially of youngins under 10, we know you'll resonate with this one. Listen in while you're doing the dishes or changing those diapers!
If you've been working on "slowing down" this holiday season, this episode is for you.
The Puttytribe has had a lot of focus this month on navigating this busy, social time of the year, with the usual demands on time, energy, consumption and expenses. The overarching concern is one of anxiety, and not letting it get the best of us.
We each find our own path, and Valentina is here to guide us, drawing on her own tumultuous and fascinating journey to understanding and partnering with anxiety.
Today our topic and theme revolves around travel, one of our favourites. There is a new and popular discussion on the Puttytribe forum, proposing a "Puttytribe Expedition," in 2020. The idea is to try and organize a group trip to a common destination, and combine an in-real-life meetup with the chance to travel and explore.
Joining us is the man who initiated that discussion: Jose Siandre, who is extending his expertise from his side hustle as a travel agent & organizer to help put this trip together.
Host Ted and Jose have a great conversation about their shared roots in travel, their inspirations and experiences, and of course the nuts and bolts of putting this idea into reality. And for the many of you who are entrepreneurial and business-curious, they touch on the details of his side hustle too.
Part Two of our conversation with JP Parker continues on the theme of understanding the world, our place in it, and where we’re heading.
JP points out, we need to do our inner work. We need to take responsibility for our own healing. Only then can we deal with our collective, subconscious trauma. The trauma that results from an exploitative, extractive economy. This is where we begin.
There is so much information out there, on all kinds of topics, that there is data overwhelm, and as individuals we don’t know where to start. With hope, this conversation might make you feel a little bit better.
