Pickup artistry, the art of seduction, "The Game--" whatever you call the practice, since time immemorial, men have been trying to get laid. With the advent of the internet, a subculture emerged, where young men gathered on forums and in conferences to trade tactics and teach each other how to compete with (and even become) Chad. But can one really achieve satisfaction by learning to pick up HB9 after HB9?

Is the pickup artist community just a bunch of shady guys using morally questionable tactics to have shallow sex, objectifying women along the way? Or does it have some redemptive qualities?

Can the pursuit of sex actually lead some men to real self-improvement and even self-actualization?

In this episode, The Multiversity Projuct dives deep into PUA culture, drawing on The Game by Neil Strauss, the Mystery Method, Real Social Dynamics, Tyler Durden, and our own experiences 'gaming' and 'being gamed.' We all know that women are underrepresented in STEM and other high-pay, high-prestige positions. Is this the result of gender discrimination, a natural result of biological differences between men and women, a cultural phenomenon, or a more complex set of factors?

In a discussion which touches on primate studies, James Damore's 2017 Google memo, discrimination research, stereotype threat, the IAT, the motherhood penalty, the wage gap, and our own personal histories, The Multiversity Project attempts to parse out what is causing such great disparities between men and women in the workplace.

The Rational Scientific Method is a proposed model-building framework where all of reality is conceptualized as objects in 3D space. The Rope Hypothesis is a theory generated by that method which proposes that at the subatomic level all of reality is made of ropes.
