  • Tree Cutting Felony and Kangaroo Meat
The Boise Dev released a story today that unveiled a sticky battle with an HOA that led to a felony. There was a man that cut a branch of a tree off from his own backyard, however that tree was on Ada County property meaning he might possibly be on deck for a felony. Margaret Carmel from the Boise Dev joined Nate to discuss that story. We also heard from Ada County Commissioner Ryan Davidson about his thoughts on the issue. Meanwhile, our neighbors to the west in Oregon, want to pass a bill that would ban the sale of kangaroo parts. They say that this is to prevent companies from making cleats out of kangaroo leather. That lead to the question: Have you ever eaten kangaroo meat? After that Nate briefly discussed baby's first ar-15. Better known as the jr-15, this rifle is being marketed to families as a way to safely train children on firearms. Schumer wants an FTC investigation into the company, saying marketing guns to children isn't allowed. To bring the show back around, the HOA tree issue actually started over whether or not the resident was allowed to have a bee hive in his back yard. Nate asks: Who likes their HOAs? Are bees a nuisance? (1/26/23)

While a new jail would help in Canyon County, this issue also resides with the judges that have let these criminals out of jail. Canyon County Sherriff Kieran Donahue joined Nate Shelman to discuss why this problem exists, the benefits to building a new jail, and how to fund a new jail. What are your thoughts? (1/25/23)

  • Where Is Idaho Headed?
There was a new study done by Boise State University that showed that statistically half of Idahoans think Idaho is going in the wrong direction. Do you think Idaho is going in the wrong or right direction? Another number from that study shows that more than 80% of Idahoans want to get rid of the grocery tax. Meanwhile, the things the Idaho Legislature wants to focus on are increased wages for state workers and... no more marriage licenses from the state??? There has been an uptick in egg smuggling at the southern border and US Customs is reminding people that uncooked eggs cannot be brought over the border from Mexico. We rounded out the show with the Rave hour where Nate was joined by Rocky Johnson about the BSU Hockey team's games in McCall next weekend and some really cool charity activities that they are participating in. After that discussion Nate asks: Should he apply for one of the vacancies in Boise City Council? Moving things to Canyon County, there seems to be a gang problem. In Nampa, police have released a statement saying that most violent crimes are gang related. In Caldwell, a high school student was made to turn her Brown Pride sweatshirt inside out over concerns it was gang attire.
