Earlier on today, the Gauteng High Court in Pretoria ruled that President Cyril Ramaphosa has complied with the remedial action of the public protector's report in the matter of Ivan Pillay's pension pay out. This basically means that President Cyril Ramaphosa does not have to take any action against Gordhan until the outcome of his review of the Ivan Pillay pension matter has been argued in court.

The ANC has come out in support of its President Cyril Ramaphosa. It says the leaked emails about his alleged involvement in the CR17 fundraising campaign is a calculated move to detract the party from dealing with issues affecting the country. Several emails were published this weekend, revealing the names of people approached for funding. They suggest Ramaphosa had intimate knowledge of his funding campaign - contrary to his earlier assertions that he was not involved

On Tuesday, thousands of protesters in Malawi’s Blantyre city blocked roads with burning tyres, calling for the country’s electoral body to resign following a presidential election that they claim was rigged. AfriForum has laid criminal charges of money laundering and corruption against the minister of transport Fikile Mbalula at Brooklyn police station. The organisation accused Mbalula of getting special favours from the owner of Sedgars Sport, who was the supplier of sports products to the department. The supplier allegedly paid between R300 000 and R680 000 in 2017 for a Dubai trip for Mbalula and his family.
