The Limpopo Transport Department has launched its festive season's road safety campaign. MEC Makoma Makhurupetje led a roadblock on the N1 outside Polokwane. Several vehicles have been removed from the road for not adhering to the rules of the road. One motorist driving an unlicensed vehicle, which was carrying passengers in its trailer has been arrested. What new thing are they bringing seeing that the province had very bad accidents in the past few months?

A group of people demanding compensation from the Gauteng government following the Life Esidimeni tragedy say they are being given the run around. They held a protest outside Gauteng premier David Makhura's office in Johannesburg. The Gauteng government says it has settled all the 134 claims as per the order of the chairperson of the Esidimeni Inquiry - retired Deputy Chief Justice Dikgang Moseneke. Zimbabwe is said to be running out of fuel. This was reportedly said by the Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority’s acting chief executive officer Eddington Mazambani yesterday in the country’s parliament. He goes on to say that the country had exhausted the $60 million worth of fuel imported last week.

Gauteng Premier David Makhura has arrived in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, following a fire that swept through hundreds of informal settlements. It's alleged that a man started the fire after having a fight with his girlfriend. He was allegedly attacked by community members - and later died in hospital after succumbing to his injuries.

The presidency has confirmed that four members of the SABC board have resigned. These being Krish Naidoo, Khanyisile Kweyama, John Matthison as well as Mr Mathata Tsedu. The board was appointed by former president Jacob Zuma in September 2017.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will have to write a letter to Parliament in order for the relevant committee to appoint four new board members.
