Earlier today, the Department of Higher Education and Training held a press conference to address the cancellation of Educor's registration. Educor is registered private higher education which houses four private institutions: City Varsity, Damelin, Icesa City Campus and Lyceum College. Thousands of students and staff have complained about the poor quality of teaching and learning, allegations of corruption, lack of response for requests for refunds on student accounts and the non-payment of staff salaries. Educor also failed to submit audited financial statements for 2021 and 2022, as part of their regulatory requirements with the DHET. Educor has announced that it will launch an appeal on this matter.
