The Northern Cape Department of Roads and Public Works has placed its chief financial officer (CFO) on precautionary suspension after he was allegedly found in possession of at least R600 000 cash in his car. The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development has announced that there is a rescue plan in place to support the Master's Office as it struggles with backlogs. This includes providing information kiosks, digitalization, address corruption and changing annual target for turnaround times for cases concluded.

Sergeant Batho Mogola has denied that accused number two in the Senzo Meyiwa trial - Bongani Ntanzi - was ordered to take off his clothes to be searched for tatoos. Mogola - who is part of the investigating team - is back on the stand at the High Court in Pretoria. Five men are on trial for the murder of the Bafana Bafana captain who was shot and killed in 2014. Mogola was responsible for the arrest of  accused 1, Muzi Sibiya and also involved in the investigations of accused number 2 Bongani Ntanzi.
