Today we revisit the whole issue of the Abraham Accords Declaration in the context of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, also assessing Israel’s bilateral relations with Arab nations. This as we know that Saudi Arabia was in the process of pursuing closer ties with Israel prior the conflict that has ensued.

The Department of Water and Sanitation explains why they have decided to withdraw the proposed regulations relating to access and use of government waterworks and surrounding State-owned land for recreational purposes. The draft regulations, which were published in the Government Gazette on 24 March this, sparked a backlash from various stakeholders and members of the public who disagreed with government on how this matter should be handled as most of them enjoy activities like fishing, boating and many other recreational activities.

Forensic expert Mmampshedi Masetla has so far excluded three of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial from the DNA evidence collected from the crime scene. Masetla is testifying in the High Court in Pretoria where five men are standing trial for the murder of the soccer star. Meyiwa was gunned down in October 2014 at the home of singer Kelly Khumalo's mother in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg. Masetla is going through all the DNA results he got from forensic tests, including that which allegedly belonged to one of the intruders. SABC News reporter, Pearl Magubane

A new inquest into the death of the late anti-Apartheid stalwart, Imam Abdullah Haron came to a conclusion at the Western Cape High Court. Earlier today, Judge Daniel Thulare found that the Imam was a victim of torture at the hands of the Security Branch which led to his death on 27 September 1969. According to the judgment, Judge Thulare also found that the police and doctors lied about the Imam's cause of death. Staff employees did not provide adequate medical examinations or appropriate treatment for his injuries. Calls for an investigation by the Military Ombud into the fire that  killed six soldiers at the Lohatla combat training centre outside Postmasburg in the Northern Cape  are mounting. This as mixed views have emerged in response to the tragic incident. The fire which allegedly broke out at a nearby mine moved from Kathu, spread rapidly, and ended up engulfing the military base on Friday evening. The tragedy happened at a time when the  soldiers were preparing for the SA Army Vukuhlome exercise. Three soldiers suffered severe burns.
