James Urdang, CEO & Founder of Education Africa, officially shared his personal and Education Africa’s images and memorabilia with the Nelson Mandela Foundation today. They will be stored in the Foundation’s archives alongside an enormous collection of memorabilia, photographs and videos which illustrate in detail the life of Nelson Mandela. Speaking during the official handover ceremony at the Nelson Mandela Foundation in Houghton, Urdang said he was proud that his story would be recorded as part of the history of Nelson Mandela’s life.

Gauteng Education MEC Matome Chiloane is concerned by the recent occurrence of suicides and suicidal attempts that have been prevalent at Tsakane Secondary. Earlier this month, two girl learners in Grade 8 and 12 from the school allegedly consumed poison at their respective homes and unfortunately passed away.

Police officer Thobeka Mhlahlo has been unable to comment on whether it's possible that the Senzo Meyiwa crime scene could have been tempered with, when the police left it unattended. Mhlahlo is being cross examined at the High Court in Pretoria by defense counsel Zandile Mshololo. Five men are on trial for the murder of the soccer star who was killed in 2014 while at Kelly Khumalo's home in Vosloorus, east of Johannesburg. Mshololo questioned Mhlahlo about the possibility of tempering with evidence when the two police officers who were first at the scene, left without cordoning it off. A group of nine high school girls from Masiphumelele has collaborated with photography students from the Stellenbosch Academy of Photography and Design to showcase the true spirit of Masiphumelele township. Through this initiative, they hope to change the negative narrative of Masiphumelele as the township is often in the news for incidents of crime and poverty.

Lieutenant Colonel Thobeka Mhlahlo has confirmed she discovered the much-talked-about bullet projectile at the scene of Senzo Meyiwa’s murder. Mhlahlo, who took the stand in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial at the High Court in Pretoria on Monday, is continuing to give evidence on how the scene was processed from the time she arrived on the scene at about 9h10am the following morning up until she left at about 14h30pm. SABC News reporter Pearl Magubane
