Masilo Koenane, the legal representative of Motanyane Masukela, who was on gate duty when convicted murderer and rapist Thabo Bester escaped from Mangaung prison last year says Masukela was not part of the escape plan. Five people accused of aiding and abetting Bester to escape prison last year are applying for bail in the Bloemfontein Magistrates Court. During crossing examination of the witness testifying, Masuleka's lawyer stated that his client only reported for duty after 7 in the morning.
