Members of parliament are calling for an investigation against Advocate Dali Mpofu after he threatened ANC MP and Chairperson of the 194 Committee, Qubudile Dyantyi. During an exchange with the chairperson of the committee yesterday, Mpofu said 'you will reget this, your day is coming'. When the MP asked Mpofu if he was threatening him, he initially said yes, and then said it is not a threat, but  a promise. When we spoke to Mpofu yesterday, he said he believes he did not violate the Powers, Privileges and Immunities of Parliament and Provincial Legislatures Act. As preparations to hold the annual Reed Dance Ceremony at Enyokeni Royal Palace on Saturday are currently underway. The battle for the Zulu Kingship has intensified, following Prince Simakade Zulu’s decision to file a court application to have the appointment of King Misuzulu kaZwelithini as the new monarch reviewed and set aside. Also those who are loyal to him are saying that King Misuzulu should perform the Reed Dance at kwaKhangelamankengane where he performed his entering the kraal ritual, and not at eNyokeni, something that has been disputed sharply by Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi, traditional prime minister to the Zulu Monarch and nation – as you may recall that he issued a statement over the past weekend, arguing that Enyokeni Royal Palace has been the venue for traditional ceremonies for decades and it is therefore not unusual for the Reed Dance to take place there.

The high court in Pretoria has heard that several people had to carry Soccer star Senzo Meyiwa to the car - after he was shot. Meyiwa's close friend, Tumelo Madlala who was present when Meyiwa was shot is continuing to give evidence in the murder trial of the goalkeeper. Madlala says there were already people outside the house soon after the incident, and assisted them to carry him to the vehicle. Meyiwa was shot and killed in 2014 at an alleged robbery.
