Lobby group Green Connection has welcomed the judgement by the Grahamstown High court, which ordered Shell to cease the seismic blasting along South Africa's wild coast. This follows an application that was filed by communities of amadiba, Cwebe, Hobeni, Port St Johns and Kei Mouth, in a bid to stop the blasting. In his judgement, Judge Gerald Bloem also ordered BG International and the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy to pay the cost of the application for the interim interdict. The Green Connection's "Who Stole Our Oceans Campaign", has opposing activities that are aimed at finding and exploiting fossil fuels under the seabed, including seismic surveys.
