Umgeni Water says residents of areas in and around Durban will be without water for a while. This after a shaft pump that supplies raw water to the Durban Heights water treatment plant is not working.

Tshenolo Pitse, the sister of Tshepang Pitse, the dismembered woman whose remains were found in a fridge in Protea Glen, Soweto says 26-year-old murder accused Flavio Hlabangwane killed her sister, who was also his cousin. Tshenolo Pitse says Flavio Hlabangwane was in a relationship with her sister Tshepang for 5 years. Tshenolo has accused Hlabangwane of being abusive and controlling towards her sister. Hlabangwane is in police custody on charges of murder. He was arrested after his girlfriend, who was visiting him, found the human remains of Tshepang Pitse and alerted authorities.

An 11 year old grade five girl has been kidnapped by three armed men at EP Baumahn primary school in Mayfair Johannesburg this morning. The girl was kidnapped outside the school gate while waiting to be sanitised and screened. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the matter.

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate, IPID says it's investigating a discharge of firearm case, after a suspect was shot and injured, allegedly by police at a lodge in Muldersdrift outside Krugersdorp over the weekend. It's understood that the victim who was allegedly armed, was causing trouble with the lodge staff when police were called to assist. Video footage on social media purportedly shows the guest cocking his firearm and grabbing a firearm from a female officer, before allegedly being shot in the head by one of the officers. He is in hospital under police guard.
