The renaming of Brandfort in South Africa's Free State Province to struggle icon, Winnie Mandela, has been met with mixed reactions. The town was originally named after the president of the former Orange Free State, Johannes Brand. Minister of Arts and Culture, Nathi Mthethwa, who approved the name change, says this is to preserve the legacy of all freedom fighters.
