The commission, chaired by Advocate Sesi Baloyi looked at the dispute about the legitimate chief of Bapo Ba Mogale. Bapo are the owners of the platinum-rich land between Rustenburg and Brits. A company called Bapo Ba Mogale Investment NPC or BBMI was established in 2014 as the business entity for the community. However, it is reported that over 600 million rand went missing from the account to BBMI. The entity had reportedly swapped the 12% annual royalties which belonged to the community - for 100 million rand in cash and 540 million rand in equity in equity in Lonmin PLC. Established over 600 million rand of the Bapo money went missing. There has been a traditional leadership vacuum since the death of Kgosi Bob Mogale in May 2017. So where is the matter now?
