Whatʼs happening in the Russia-Ukraine war: The longer the war drags on the more it tilts towards Ukrainians favor and away from Putin. So Putin would want to end this Now. It is my opinion as at February 28th, 2022 that Putin miscalculated: he was expecting a swift and quick and easy invasion and takeover of #Ukraine. If he had done so life would have continued as usual in the region and he would have come out saving face as he did when he took over #Crimea and life went on. Even the International community was willing to tolerate his tantrums by applying soft sanctions to appear as if they were doing something to overturn Putin’s mind so that at the end they could save face after Ukraine fall to Russia. But never did they expect the Ukrainians to put up such a fight. These unassuming sedate people suddenly started to use whatever means to defend their country and pushed back and delayed the enemy. In fact, they hurt and injured several Russian operatives. The world took notice, and started rallying international support for the Ukrainians. The President Zelensky was partly responsible with his defiance and inspirational messages to his people and the world, exposing Putin’s lies and pleading for help and demonstrating a willingness to fight to the end. When this happened, the leading figures in the international community couldn’t help but to act and apply serious sanctions and help; as they realized the world had noticed what was happening.
