They don't make 'em like they used to... and that's certainly evident in the case of The NeverEnding Story. It's nearly impossible to imagine a movie with imagery like this being marketed to kids today.  Maybe that's one reason it resonated so strongly with our generation -  its most memorable moments were probably the most traumatic. All three of us loved this as kids, it gets requested all the time, and we couldn't wait to take another look at it. Topics include: how much the author of the novel hated this adaptation, the differences between the U.S. and German cuts of the film, the amazing performances of these young actors, the initial aimlessness of Atreyu's mission and an easy fix for that, the terrible fate of Artax and why maybe its not such a bad way to go after all,  some unexpectedly conflicted feelings about Falcor, the reason it makes sense to end the movie at the book's halfway point, why the sequels are really where they drop the ball when it comes to deviating from the source material, and much much more!
