- The Trump administration is continuing the US proxy war with Russia through Ukraine right where the previous Biden administration left off;

- Not only has the Trump administration failed to end the conflict as it campaigned on doing so “within 24 hours,” it has begun a process of escalation, division of labor, and strategic sequencing targeting Russian allies Iran and China as well;

- US Tomahawk cruise missiles are still being considered for deployment to Ukraine;

- The most likely platform for launching them would be the Lockheed Long Range Fires (LRF) launcher abandoned by the US Marines in 2023 but still under consideration by the US Army;

- Working examples of this platform exist and would provide sufficient mobility for Ukraine-based Tomahawk strikes on targets across Russia;

- The missiles would likely be used to expand an already ongoing US-directed campaign targeting Russian energy production which US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced would be pressured as early as February 2025;

- The US and Europe are preparing the European public for a wider and more dangerous role in the ongoing conflict as Europe will be needed to fill the void Ukraine’s collapsing fighting capacity is leaving;

- The US is and will continue to extend its campaign of political subversion, economic sanctions and tariffs, as well as encouraging US client states to begin seizing Chinese assets and ramping up for proxy and even direct war and blockades on China just as it has been vis-a-vis Russia;

- The Trump administration predictably continues the war in Ukraine despite campaigning on ending the conflict in 2024;

- Both policy papers and Trump administration officials since coming to office had admitted this with claims otherwise amounting to mere political pandering;

- Current plans to continue the war hinge on Europe "burden sharing" under a "division of labor" while the US prepares to pivot toward China;

- The US still oversees both Ukrainian military and intelligence operations but demands more European public funds be diverted to sustaining the proxy war at best, or committing European troops to create a buffer zone and freeze the conflict at least;

- The US is still considering sending longer-range missiles to Ukraine which the US itself will oversee the use of on targets deep inside Russia;

- The US is overseeing a campaign to strike Russian energy production but also attempts to incrementally interdict ships carrying Russian energy at sea;

- Success in interdicting Russian energy shipments will then be applied to similar plans to interdict Chinese maritime shipping;

- Everything "Europe" is doing regarding Ukraine now, US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth told them to do in a directive delivered in Brussels back in February of this year;

The US - far from abandoning Ukraine - is simply implementing its long-announced “division of labor” through which all the costs and consequences of continuing its proxy war with Russia in Ukraine are being shifted entirely onto Europe.

The US will continue directing Ukrainian forces and intelligence agencies as well as ship weapons and provide ISR to carry out strikes both in Ukraine and deep inside Russia while refocusing the rest of its resources on Asia and more specifically, China.

Europe - for its part - is attempting to portray Russia as an existential threat in order to justify the increased costs and possible consequences of taking on a larger role in Washington’s proxy war with Russia.

The US has backed violent unrest in 3 Asian nations in just 1 month in a concerted regional effort to encircle and contain China.

The Philippines is the latest victim of US-sponsored unrest - with US National Endowment for Democracy-funded organizations leading and promoting the protests taking to the streets across the Philippines.

The US has announced plans to ship 3,350 air-launched Extended Range Attack Munition (ERAM) missiles to Ukraine in yet another escalation amid a war the current Trump administration vowed during the 2024 US presidential campaign to end in “24 hours.”

The details of the program, however, are far more underwhelming than the headlines announcing them, with the first 1,000 missiles being sent over the course of 2 years. Because the missile is air-launched, there will also be limits imposed on its use by the number of warplanes and pilots available to fly sorties delivering it.
