The New Old Norwich

2 league games, twice scoring 4 goals, back in the top 6? Could it have gone any better for David Wagner replacing Dean Smith at Carrow Road?

Not sure even Stuart Webber would've have dreamt two away wins and now another fortnight to work together as a team before the big boys of Burnley come into town!

This episode 36 of the New Old Norwich - and after a World Cup, Christmas, Sackings hiatus - the Greatest ever countdown is back - with the strikers!

"Don't look too far ahead" says the new manager of Norwich City David Wagner - a sort of coming home for the ex-Huddersfield boss, who's once again teaming up with Stuart Webber and others to try and get a Championship club back into the Premier League.

But without a win in 4 and yet another home defeat against Blackburn in the FA Cup at the weekend, where's the first win coming from and how?

We look ahead to what's hopefully a better year than 2022 for City!

We called for it two months ago, and finally the axe has been wielded by Webber. Dean Smith has gone with Norwich City still aiming for promotion this season despite being nearer the bottom 3 than the top 2!

In this emergency edition of the podcast, we discuss the past 12 months, review the candidate list and ask what's next for Stuart Webber and our Carrow Rd Club.

Oh and Happy New Year (hopefully!)

They used to say a day's a long time in politics, but it seems the same for football as the most pessimistic Norwich fan I know and love as reversed his decision about Dean Smith!

After 7 points from 9, Dad (@PeterCushing1) says he's feeling positive and hopeful for City as we approach the last game against Middlesbrough before the World Cup.

I simply can't believe it and entirely disagree! (@johncushing_)

During this podcast, Peter Cushing looks back at the stats from 17 games in after relegation under the Neils - Alex and Adams. With the annual report showing some worrying stats in it too, he looks at what happened after the Nigel Worthington relegation.

Have a listen but let us tell you it's not looking good for Dean Smith or Norwich City.

So we think it's now time to act, time to hear from Mark Attanasio, and time to look forward before the season, even with a World Cup break, passes us by.

And in our countdown of the Greatest ever NCFC XI, we finish our central midfield selections!
