This semester’s New Rules Project got to hear from my good friend, Matt McHaffie.
Matt was working at construction and restaurant jobs in high school and wanted to go to work full time at age 16. He found ACE, where he could earn his high school diploma and graduate early.
With all the experience he had and the high school diploma he was able to take and pass the GED® test to earn his contractor's license by age 22! He was one of the youngest, if not the youngest person, to ever pass the test in Leon County.
He now owns his own construction company GBGH Construction.
He has experienced what it truly looks like to write New Rules not only in his personal life but in the lives of his clients and his vision for the city of Tallahassee.
