There aren't many entertainers as friendly, approachable and effortlessly hilarious as @SrPelo. There, I said it. The Mexican animator and voice actor has amassed a cool four million subscribers on the YouTubes, BUT! He'll be the first to say it's not about that. It's literally just about making people laugh and having fun. He's got content of all kinds, from colorful and polished (Spooky Month) to total shitpost fever dream (Mokey Show, X Is...). He streams sometimes too, although not as much as I thought, apparently.

@VoicesByCorey and I (@Will) got to chat with Pelo on Thursday night, 2/11. I gotta say that the crowd listening live that night was huge, and also super supportive, props to the guy's fanbase for being amazing. After talking a bit about sports or whatever, we got into the origin of his style, his inspirations, his characters, his involvement with Friday Night Funkin, and what it's like to voice Mokey. We also touched on the Twitter weirdness he found himself wrapped up in with Egoraptor back in 2019, and while he didn't have to say anything about it with us, he actually talked us through the whole thing and gave us an amazing look into what it was like from his perspective. We closed it out with some questions from the chat, and he even stayed in our public voice channel for a bit afterwards and hung out with the crowd. 10/10, five stars, would do again.

All four hosts -- @PsychoGoldfish, @Will, @Xinxinix and @VoicesByCorey -- showed up to this one mostly unprepared. And hey, there ended up being A LOT to talk about. @UnlimitedTrees popped on to talk about his game, UNITRES Dreams, which as of this writing is sitting on the NG Frontpage banner. After making a short test game during a game jam, Mr. Trees roped together his closest creator friends (including 14 whole musicians!) and led a pretty casual labor-of-love project that ballooned into what can best be described as a huge, expansive, fun-as-hell Sonic Mega Drive casino acid trip. He told us all about it, and finally community topics sent us all spiraling into madness.

This year might have been incredibly weird, but at least it gave us good material.

NGP started on February 20th, 2020. (2/20/2020, niiiiice. Anyone remember that Skyrim was released on 11/11/11? Love those cool dates. Anyway.) The podcast started as a Franken-project between @ACoupleOfCrickets and @GroundsPatrol, but it soon took on a mind of its own.

More hosts joined, episodes varied as we juggled casual hangouts with polished interviews, the format changed and changed. We threw a giant remote Block Party, which was an awesome event and also a catalyst for the show's growth, as it a) tripled our community size and b) brought Xinxinix and Art Talks into the mix. The new creative energy from that zapped NGP into something even bigger, more interesting and more fun.

Now, at the end of 2020, NGP has 37 episodes, a growing listener-base and a truly amazing community of fans. And we're just getting started baybeeeeeeeee.

All your favorite indie game characters, fighting on one platform

We talked to two of the minds behind Fraymakers, the upcoming indie platform fighter featuring some of the most beloved characters in indie gaming. There was a lot to cover, from their history with the well-known Super Smash Flash, to the development of their own software for adding characters to Fraymakers - Fraytools. Amid the serious talk of Kickstarters and Art Contests, there are also plenty of jokes to go around. We even get to hear the devs come up with move sets for various characters on the fly!
