Self publishing is know to be the hero to many author's stories when traditional publishing is not an option, but this doesn't always make it the easier option. Self publishing like all thing has its negatives and its positive, but for you will the positives outweigh the negatives? Is self publishing a right option for you? Female heroines are becoming more and more popular in stories, but are the stereotypes we are growing around strong female characters good or bad? Should a female heroine really be physically strong or emotionally in touch? Can you do both? Does strength for any character rely on physical trait, emotional traits, plot, or does strength really matter at all?
Let's dive in with fantasy author Sara B. Larson (Defy trilogy and Sisters of Shadow and Light duology) to open the conversations about how the mental health of you and your characters, especially female characters, effects the portrayal of their strength. And how we as authors can better build characters that connect and empower our readers.
