  • 29. How to Solve Any Teacher Problem ** Teachers on the Home Stretch **
Does your teaching career sometimes feel like you're simply moving from one problem to the next? Solving one problem only to have five more pop up in its place?

If you can relate to this at all, tune in to learn how to solve any problem that you encounter as a teacher--or any problem you encounter in your personal life.

I want to introduce you to the Self-Coaching Model. This is the main coaching tool that Life Coaches like me use to help teachers like you understand and solve any problem.

The Model is an awareness tool that shows us what we are creating in our lives. Learning how to use it and practicing it with problems big and small will help you recognize your brain's unhelpful thinking patterns and start to build more useful ones!

From that emotional space, we can access our own creativity and wisdom to help us discover solutions for any classroom struggle.

So whether you have lost your job or you think one of your students is a little irritating, check out this episode to learn how to use the Self-Coaching Model!

  • 27. Why Teachers Don't Feel Better After a Break
    SPRING BREAK!! WAHOO!

Most teachers look forward (and maybe even count down) to the days leading up to Spring Break! This makes perfect sense! After a long, cold winter, the idea of sunshine and time off sounds lovely!

But what happens after you return from the break? Is your job suddenly better? Has everything changed? Are all your problems solved?

    Most likely, no.

You'll return to school and will likely have the same or a similar experience to what you had before the break.

If you had a negative experience before,  while the break may provide you with some temporary relief, it is only temporary.

To find long-lasting relief to teacher stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, we must address the cause of the problem: our thinking. Tune in to learn how our thinking impacts our experience and how changing our thoughts can completely transform our experience in the classroom!

  • 22. Teacher Self Talk
How do you talk to yourself?

Whether a teacher (or any human, for that matter) is aware of it or not, we are constantly having an internal dialogue with ourselves. That dialogue--the story--we are choosing to tell ourselves about our circumstances has an enormous impact on the way we feel, the actions we choose to take, and ultimately the results we create in our classrooms (and everywhere else).

Because the brain tends to default toward the negative, most of us have a pretty mean inner voice that criticizes what we do and how we do it. What would happen if we flipped that inner dialogue to a more positive and encouraging message?

Tune in to learn how the way we speak to ourselves and others can dramatically change your experience and results in your life as well as a few tips to shift your brain from critical to kind.

Tune in today to discover how to redirect your brain when it offers you thoughts like these!

In this episode, we learn that extreme changes are not necessary, just consistent small shifts in our thoughts that can dramatically change the trajectory of our lives!
