MP Materials' (MP) mission is to restore the full rare earth supply chain to the United States of America. MP Materials owns and operates Mountain Pass, the only integrated rare earth mining and processing site in North America. Today, China dominates the rare earth industry, producing over 80% of global supply. Having a single country as a potential point-of-failure in the industrial supply chain for trillions of dollars in GDP is untenable, and MP Materials provides a straightforward solution. Mountain Pass is blessed with one of the world’s highest quality deposits of rare earths, which allows MP Materials to be a global low-cost producer while adhering to our rigorous environmental standards and fulfilling our commitments to employees and our community.

It's important to both understand and prepare for the permanent changes that have been made. Some industries have benefitted greatly from these changes, making them attractive investment opportunities moving further into 2021. The potential for genomic stocks could be massive, according to Wood, who foresees a combination of artificial intelligence and gene editing allowing scientists to anticipate and cure diseases like sickle cell disease and diabetes."The biggest upside surprises are going to come from the genomic space, and that's because the convergence of DNA sequencing, artificial intelligence, and gene therapies are going to cure disease," Wood said. "We actually think the next 'FANG' [stocks] are in the genomic age." Precision BioSciences is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to improving life (DTIL) with its novel and proprietary ARCUS® genome editing platform. ARCUS is a highly specific, versatile platform designed with therapeutic safety, delivery, and control in mind. Using ARCUS, Precision is developing allogeneic CAR T and in vivo gene correction therapies for cancer and infectious diseases. I’ve been increasingly interested in learning more about the genomic industry. After Cathie Wood’s bullish call and increased investment in this industry, I figured it's time for me to do some research myself. In this video I break down Precision Biosciences (DTIL) and why I think it could be a good pick in this space.
2020 has seen an acceleration of many digital trends, e-commerce being the poster child of this phenomenon. With stores closed, consumers have had no choice but to order online. In fact, according to data from IBM, 2020 has accelerated the shift to e-commerce by five years. Not only have people been changing where they buy their goods, but also how they pay for those goods. The latest trend sweeping the e-commerce industry is known as "buy now, pay later," which is exactly what it sounds like. Unlike credit cards, shoppers using buy now, pay later can create payment plans for specific items, and in many cases, they do not have to worry about interest expense. This is a huge win for consumers by providing yet another way to pay for goods and services. In this video, I break down Affirm (AFRM), Afterpay (AFTPY), and Katapult (FSRV), and my pick for the best investment in the buy now, pay later space.
Mental illness is on a drastic rise, and it's being fueled by the current pandemic. Talkspace has quickly become one of the leading platforms offering a comprehensive suite of virtual therapy solutions. I truly believe mental illness is one of the biggest health challenges that we will face in the next few decades. Due to this, I want to look into some of the leading companies tackling this problem. I believe Talkspace is well-positioned to become the market leader in this industry and to really make a real difference to those who need it.

Jumia has seen an amazing run in 2020 as it's up 530% YTD as of January 7th, 2020. Many people coin Jumia as "The Amazon of Africa", but does that justify its current valuation today? I think so, but there are a few red flags that have kept me from investing so far. After this 20% pull-back from ATH however, I'm looking to build a small position. Let's discuss why.
Jumia Technologies operates an e-commerce platform in Africa. The company's platform consists of a marketplace, which connects sellers with consumers; logistics service that enables the shipment and delivery of packages from sellers to consumers; and payment service, which facilitates transactions to participants active on the company's platform in selected markets. Its marketplace offers various products in a range of categories, as well as access to various services, such as restaurant food delivery, hotel and flight booking, classified advertising, airtime recharge, and instant delivery.
On January 7th, 2021, fintech start-up SoFi (IPOE) announced that they are going public via SPAC backed by Chamath Palihapitiya.
SoFi’s mission is to help people achieve financial independence by getting their money right, providing access to a comprehensive suite of services in a single app that empowers members to borrow, save, spend, invest and protect their money. SoFi’s one-stop shop, multi-product strategy, and leading technology platform, Galileo, place the company at the epicenter of the digital revolution in financial services.
I've been interested in investing in Sofi for a while now. Rumors were spreading last year that Sofi was looking to go public, and upon hearing that Chamath was taking it public I knew I had to look into it as a potential investment. So let's take a deep look into what Sofi is all about, and if it's a good buy today.
