The No Name RC Podcast

Lefty is joined again by longtime Kyosho legend Mic Cradock to continue the history of the 1/8th IFMAR Off-Road World Championships.

Mic shares firsthand stories from his first Worlds in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1990 before moving into the rain-soaked 1992 Worlds in Germany, where Kunihiro Toge delivered Kyosho its first of eight World Championships.

They also discuss early RC technology, track conditions, tire development, international travel and the beginning of Japanese dominance in 1/8th off-road racing.

We do our usual stuff as we cover the most pressing news in the RC scene and dive deep into the race itself including the infamous track cut incident. You all get to witness an extremely heated argument about the standing of ROAR in the American RC scene which is a bit condensed from the original recording due to Max and Lefty both losing the plot towards the end.

Daniel came over from Norway for his first INS race and left with wins in both 2WD and 4WD Mod after a brutal weekend on one of the toughest carpet tracks we have seen. The RC One layout had concrete walls, a tricky quad jump, changing track conditions, and plenty of carnage, but Daniel managed the chaos and came out on top.

In this episode, we talk about his wins, the battle with Taylor Sontag, Brennan Schimmel’s speed, the Schumacher team effort, European vs American track styles, and what makes RC One such a unique challenge. Huge thanks to Daniel for coming on and sharing his thoughts after a massive weekend for him and the Schumacher team.
