Cole Torode is the co-owner of Rosso Coffee Roasters in Calgary, Alberta, Founder and Head of Coffee and Operations at Forward Specialty Green Coffee Importers. He is also a seasoned coffee competitor as the 2018/2019 Canadian National Barista Champion, which brought him to place 5th and 3rd in the World Barista Championships during those consecutive years. This year, 2023, he also placed first in the Canadian Brewers Cup Championship.
In this episode, I share a slightly older conversation with Cole from December 2020. We continue the ongoing conversation about experimental fermentations in coffee processing, how we can talk about them, and discuss good examples from a mutual coffee producing colleague, Samuel Ronzon, and what he's doing on his farm in Veracruz, Mexico. For my conversation with Sammy in Spanish (with subtitles), check out our video chat on YouTube.

To support this podcast, check out our sponsor Wacaco and their range of portable coffee brewing gear from espresso to filter. I’ve been personally using their equipment for years, on all my travels, and I appreciate having them onboard for this adventure.
