The Now Life

Today is going to be a great episode because Josh Howard is joining Shawn and Josh F.!  Josh Howard has spent many years ministering in India and has a passion to see the Kingdom of God spread throughout the world. This is part 1 of a 2-part interview and trust us, you're going to want to tune in to hear these conversations! Josh discusses with us four crucial steps to igniting disciple making movements and this episode covers the first two steps. These principals and steps are biblical, and Josh is speaking from experience because he is a practitioner of disciple making. Tune in and let your heart be moved by God! Plan to be back for Part 2 on December 16th!

What does it mean to be a Christian? Who defines this “identity”, and do you agree? Are we supposed to make eternal impact? Is God always right? What about when you feel differently and disagree, is He still correct? Does your life reflect the image of Jesus or just a picture of you?  Take some time and listen in as Shawn and Josh discuss these important questions.

It's Monday which means it's time for a new episode of The Now Life! Shawn and Josh are joined by their friend Sam Washington in the studio. The guys have a great discussion on Living on Mission and the heart behind it. Sam says living on mission can be living sacrificially, uncomfortably, inconveniently serving other people and sharing Jesus with your lips. This isn’t easy to do all the time, but it is what Jesus has called us to do.  Listen in and hear about how God can change your perspective on Living on Mission.

Steve has been encouraging Desert Springs Community Church to Live on Mission by showing Jesus with their lives and sharing Jesus with their lips for almost 30 years. Take some time and listen to this encouraging and challenging conversation. You will hear the call from a Pastor’s heart for everyone to be equipped to share the gospel for the glory of God and the sake of others.

SURPRISE! Welcome to our special bonus episodes of The Now Life. These episodes are a continuation of bonus episodes released back in April. Back in March our church (Desert Springs Community Church) sent a team of 10 adults led by Pastor Jamie Engram to serve with our missionaries Wade + Shannon Cooperrider in Nicaragua. They had a VBS, shared testimonies and sermons, handed out flyers, swam in a volcano lake and even sang a special praise song in Spanish. Most importantly, they got to see God work in some amazing ways as they and the team at La Paz Centro worked together to share the gospel with their community. All told, they had 120 kids on the last day of VBS that heard the gospel and have heard of six that made professions of faith. Shawn wanted to take some time to talk with a few of their team members to hear about their experience and how they saw God work.

Welcome back to The Now Life! Shawn and Josh wrap up the season with an episode discussing an important element of making disciples. Without relationships, spiritual transformation is very unlikely to happen. If you want to see your life lived for the glory of God and the sake of others, then you need to have a growing relationship with God and His church. As you listen in and consider where you are in your walk with Jesus, we encourage you to take your next steps today. Don’t put it off any longer! Follow Jesus and tell us about it.
