Merry Christmas! 🎄
One of the podcasts me and @tete.depunk are recording this Christmas Eve and Christmas!
We talk about our achievements this year, especially how we:
-changed our creative habits,
-started using @tapascommunity more, which helped us to “get off our asses and start writing,”
-stopped relying on surges of inspiration, and
-started disciplining ourselves to do more every day.
This is a FULL podcast episode that you can listen to directly on my Instagram! It's also on my YouTube and the other typical locations you can see on our podcast’s Anchor.fm profile.

In this episode, we'll be talking about how @tete.depunk did her research for "70 Fierce Years" (Andrei's story) and "Union of Wave and Shore" (Kai and Gerda's story).
The questions we'll be covering today:
For "70 Fierce Years":
1. When did you first get the idea for 70 Fierce Years?
2. When did you start gathering research for the series and how has your research method for the series changed over the years?
3. Which was the hardest part of researching for 70 Fierce Years?
4. What is the easiest part?
For "Union of Wave and Shore":
1. How was researching for a story set in 19th century Norway different from researching for pagan lore (which you used to write the fantasy version of Gerda and Kai)?
2. Are there any writers, like Sholokhov for the Cossacks, who you can use as a starting point? How about Henrik Ibsen's works?
This time, catch us talking about the recent roleplay, "The Well-Dressed Stranger," that we did that will be coming out on the 20th till the 25th as part of Endlessmidnightmoon's "Journal of Extras": https://tapas.io/series/The-Journal-of-Extras/info
Art of Annibale (right) and Frankie (left) is by Fortunus Games!
In this episode, @helevorn_bor and I, @fortunusgames, compare two of our characters, Ivar (from "Equilibrium Point") and Joel ("The Book of Joel," which you can read here: https://www.fortunusgames.com/current-projects).
Both of them are cynical and skeptical towards relationships, which they find trivial, distracting, and leading to loss of control. But while Ivar is rather indifferent towards this topic and dismisses it entirely, Joel imposes himself these barriers willingly.
These comparisons are exercises in both character development and psychology, because we get to explore how characters/people can have certain similar traits which stem from different motivations and elicit different behaviours (according to their own temperament and experiences).
On today's episode of @fortunusgames 's The Nuts and Bolts of Writing, @helevorn_bor discuss with @fortunusgames and @wrenby_m the process of doing historical research when you're writing a story.
This applies both to historical fiction, such as Helevorn's "Lucky Wolf" (Old Norse culture), and to fantasy, like Wren's "The House on Caple Hill" (ancient Egyptian and Celtic).
This conversation will feature some of techniques and sources we used, as well as readings from Lucky Wolf of those scenes that were most heavily researched (along with the sources that inspired Helevorn).

@tete.depunk has joined Tapas this year and become rooted in the fantastic community of Tapas! To both of us, Tapas has proven a far and vastly superior improvement over the limitations of dA. Tapas has provided an ideal and innovative platform to share our writing. For Tete, Tapas has also helped her to grow confident as a writer in terms of efficiency, proficiency, as well as being able to share and interact with like-minded writers.

Just as the title says, in this episode @tete.depunk and I, @fortunusgames will be exploring, how, despite the temptation of having a fantastic couple and all the shipping feels, sometimes the fixation and hyperfocus on romantic couples can be detrimental to a writer, especially a writer trying to develop full characters and an immersive world.
In this episode, @tete.depunk and I, @fortunusgames, talk about my character, Malka Spitzer, from my graphic novel, "The Book of Joel" (which you can read here: https://www.fortunusgames.com/current-projects).

Thumbnail art is by me, @fortunusgames, and features @tete.depunk's character, Natalia, and my character, Ardalion.
In this episode, @tete.depunk and I, @fortunusgames, explore how a 2016 roleplay between Ardalion and Natalia changed her views on male sexuality. Needless to say, the role play was a pivotal turning point for her, because it transformed her entire outlook on male sexuality in broad terms and in very specific terms. Prior to the role play, Tete had a lot of misconceptions and misinformed biases which led her to create, in her words, "stilted and soulless characters steeped in idealism, like innocent fairy tales, not actual human souls." Here, we explore how the role-play came to be!
