Bruce R Ross is a successful executive, husband, father, neighbour, friend and now author, who has lived a thriving life despite dealing with depression for the past 45 years.
Bruce joins me as a guest and shares some of the highlights of his new book and some of the tactics and strategies he has used and continues to use to battle his depression.
Ross’ story is a powerful one. Not many people are brave enough to share their mental health trials with close friends, let alone write a book about it and share it with the world.
Join me for this in-depth and honest conversation about mental health and one man’s work to be a little bit better every day.
Join Laura Stratton as she reads a sleepy time meditation to help ease you off into night, night time.
This is shared from her Chaos To Calm Retreats for women.
Get comfy and see where this takes you...
How are you? How are you doing?
In this episode of the Oil Dudes Podcast I share with you my answer to this question that we each pose to one another countless times a day.
My answer? I say "I'm living the dream". You'll have to listen to find out why.
To tell me how you answer this question check me out on Twitter and Instagram @strattosphere76.
Thanks for listening.
I have recorded an essay I wrote when I received my Second Degree Black Belt. In it, I share how martial arts have been a major part of my mental health recovery over the past couple of years. I highly recommend giving it a try.
New year and new name for the Podcast. The Oil Dudes Podcast is now Project Sheepdog. And my first guest is an old friend Darren Long of Delta Harbour Assets.
Have you ever been interested in owning physical gold and silver? I have and luckily I've had the opportunity to sit down with an expert in the field, Darren Long. Darren and I are old high school buddies who re-connected and he shared with me some of the pros and cons of owning precious metals. This turned into a much longer conversation that we originally planned, but did I ever get some great info out of it.

Welcome to part 2 of Quarantine Home Schooling tips and strategies for parents. Are you trying to work, run a business and home school your kids through the covid-19 quarantine? Are you looking for strategies to be better at it? Or is it stressing you and the kids out? In this episode I interview teachers Sarah Donaldson and Ryan Persaud. They have been guests before and share lots of great tips and strategies here to help you parents get through all this. They are also learning how to homeschool their own 2 kids through this as well.
This can be a great opportunity for you and your kids to be closer and to learn a few things together. Just remember to take a deep breath once in a while and try to find the positives in this and don’t focus on all struggles or troubles going on. There are some silver linings in this quarantine, we just have to find them.

Gurdeep Ahluwalia is the host of Canada’s most watched regional morning show on CP24. He has been the host since 2016 and prior to that he was the on TSN on SportsCentre. What impresses me the most about Gurdeep is he is the type of person who goes out and makes things happen for himself. Even when he was unsuccessful or got turned down for an opportunity he continued to hustle and not let that bring him down.
He likes to say that he “reads the tea leaves” and has jumped into different positions in the Toronto media landscape. He’s reinvented himself a couple of times, from print to lifestyle to sports and then to being the news anchor on CP24.
Gurdeep is open and honest and gives a behind the scenes look into what happens on a morning show. We also a touch a little bit on how he deals with his mental health
Ron Burgundy, he is not. Well maybe a little bit.

And watch him every morning from 5am to 9am on CP24

Brian Stemmle is a Canadian 4 time Olympic Alpine skier. He was a member of the Canadian Ski Team from 1984-1999. He’s also a broadcaster on CBC and Sportsnet covering downhill skiing.
In 1989, Brian had one of the most spectacular crashed in professional skiing history at Kitzbuhel Austria. When it was over he had a shattered pelvis and serious internal injuries. Most people would be thankful to be able to walk again after such a crash. But Brian came back and skied at 3 more Olympic games.
I wanted to talk to Brian because I wanted to dig into what motivated him to get back to the top of the skiing world after almost losing his life to it. Not just back to skiing, but to skiing at the highest level of the sport.
Here’s the video of the crash
