  • The Sacred Woman : Healing
Raindrops this is our last episode for Season 2 😱 Over the years Rain Akaï has been on a healing journey so that she can be her highest self. Healing has not be linear for her but it has been a progression. From not talking about her feelings in an African household , to opening up to family, friends and even those Eurocentric therapists who normally have been white women. Race shouldn’t matter but it clearly does in the world we live in and to be colour blind is to live in an illusion. A lot of times Rain Akaï did not go into detail about her trauma because she felt like they would not understand her lived experience as a black woman and be judgemental. With so much going on in Rain Akaï’s world she found herself in need of help and was ready to try something new. The definition of insanity they say is doing something over and over again and expecting different results. Her mind became curious and opened up to one of her mentors Brother Sankofa who discussed the importance of healing based on African spirituality and to give it a try. This brought her to google where she stumbled on Queen Afua who released her book titled “The Sacred Woman : A guide to Healing the Feminine Body, Mind, and Spirit “ . She is a nationally renowned herbalist, natural health expert, and dedicated healer of women's bodies and women's souls who practices Afrocentric spirituality. Brother Sankofa connected Rain Akaï to her very own real life Queen Afua who goes by Sensa Raneb who owns a healing practice “ Sa Ankh Wisdom of Life” which Rain Akaï is currently enrolled in and is learning so much wonderful techniques from Sensa Raneb. Rain Akaï feels everyone can benefit from this service and she wanted to share with you raindrops some of her lessons. The main goal of self-care is to maintain mental, physical, emotional and spiritual balance in your daily life yet so many of us do not take it seriously. Healing is a big part of self care. The Black community has been known to avoid therapy for a multitude of reasons. However, we cannot continue on this ignorant path. Rain Akaï hopes to be the change she wants to see and believes by doing the work she is healing generations to come. Her hope is that those around her will be inspired and take their own healing journey seriously and be on the right path to become the best version of themselves. We look forward to bringing Sensa Raneb on Season 3 when we return. In the mean time keep dripping raindrops 💧🌍

  • The curse of Eve : A critical analysis of masculinity , femininity, and leadership
We need a cultural reset. We need to take responsibility for where we are and build a new future with confidence and as allies of one another. Since the beginning of time God created Adam and then created Eve as a helper. The story of Adam and Eve is always brought up and Eve is always highlighted as the one who cursed us all. There has been a lot of pain and suffering on both men and women. We have seen the battle of the sexes play out in pop culture as we applaud others for their masculinity and femininity. While others suffer in silence for their masculinity and femininity. A community is made up of people and people are individuals. We have a responsibility as a community to have the uncomfortable conversations so we can reach new levels of enlightenment. We are all wonderfully and fearfully made in the image of God and we need to start walking in that power and light as it is in all of us. In todays episode we take a closer look at women and men who have represented the culture and who are referred to as “ Alpha males and “ Alpha females” . In the midst of Hollywood’s “me too” feeding movement as a call for attention in the wake of too many sexual abuse allegations to count, the topic of what’s being called “toxic masculinity” is brought to the forefront. The truth is that there’s a greater agenda at play here, and it’s the elephant in the room that noone’s talking about. In both my personal and professional life, I’m a woman who spends most of her time in the company of alpha males and I too am labeled as an “alpha female” so I said let me tackle this hot topic raindrops and try to break it down , deconstruct , reconstruct our way of thinking. I play devils advocate as I put 2 and 2’s together. I love and absolutely embrace these “ Alpha” qualities, both in males and in myself. I want other women to embrace it too if they fit it and to be unapologetic about it. We need to scrutinize our own culture and fearlessly identify what is really going on here. I’m happy to be crucified for that if my message also meets some like-minded individuals who will find it enlightening . The success and survival of the human race is due as much to woman’s reproductive power as it is due to man’s power to protect and provide. Balance is found by establishing mutual respect; not by diminishing one side or the other.

  • INTEGRITY - To be or not to be that is the question 🧐
In todays episode we are joined by special guest Aisha Vortex who is a model and content creator. We get into what it means to have integrity in todays society and the importance of having integrity when navigating our lives . It is the small decisions that lead to bigger decisions and we must make decisions that guide us to be who we are called to be. As young women navigating business it’s been a journey but we stand on the importance of having integrity in a world that is constantly pressuring us. We all have a moral compass and this is what guides integrity. In order to have success one must have integrity . Integrity is not measured by money but it reflects in your character and the way you carry yourself and treat those around you. Martin Luther King Jr once said “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy” and having integrity is not always easy but it is always worth it. You must attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, mirror what you admire. Integrity is the core of our character and without it we have a weak foundation.

  • NO NEW FRIENDS 😬
Have you heard Drakes song with DJ Khaled “ No New Friends” ? Raindrops, let me tell you that’s TOXIC mentality and you need to let that mentality go. Meeting new people and making new friends may seem like a scary thing to do. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Not everyone you meet will turn out to be a real friend and that’s a WORD. At the raindrop family we are about building and nurturing great friendships new or OLD. S/O goes to all my friends, I love you ALL and you know who you are 😉 In today’s podcast I get deep so let’s get into it and press ▶️
