The Omniplex

Welcome to another outtakes episode!

This week's jumbo archive of outtakes dates way back to a year ago. Joining us are guests Colin Hill, Beck Poppins, Rob Gokee, and Matt Jackson! Hear: Lots of comic talk! Hear: pre-show madness! Hear: Albert's phone going during record! All this and much more! Enjoy!

Welcome to Uncle Slavko's All-American Family Lodge!

This week we talk with director Matt Jackson about his horror/comedy Love in the Time of Monsters! We cover LOTS of ground, including the importance of keeping the horror/comedy balance, color space, and owning physical media. Come join us!

Up Next: Outtakes!

Welcome to another Lost Tapes episode! This one is far overdue, which only helps it earn the "Lost Tapes" title.

This time we take on Frank Miller's The Spirit. A movie that's trying so hard to be a PG-13 Sin City when it shouldn't be. We rip apart the film and the cult of Frank Miller to its roots.

Here's Austin's too-kind initial review of The Spirit

Up Next: Director Matt Jackson!

Ever wanted to know how all that music you hear in your favorite TV shows and movies gets made? We did too! So we asked composer Rob Gokee how it's done! Austin, Al, and Rob talk all manner of things, from music to movies (and all of the above), to TV shows we're keeping up with. Join us as we discuss the stuff of pure emotion!

Most of the backing tracks to this episode are Rob's compositions, all of which can be found on Rob's site at RobGokee.com. We encourage you to listen to them on their own, they're great fun!

Other bits of score come from Lost, Frozen, The X-Files, Steven Universe, and Breaking Bad.

Some things Rob has worked on include:

The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy (Fun Webseries!)

Dark Knight Legacy (A Dark Knight Fan Film!)

and

Dueling Kapowskis (A Dreamworks Animated Webseries!)

Up Next: The Spirit! (For real this time)

Welcome to torture!

At least we're not alone! This week we're joined by recurring guest Beck Poppins to talk about Zack Snyder's faux-feminist film Sucker Punch! This one has been a long time coming, and we vent like the wind. This of course wouldn't be complete without a contrasting good feminist work, so we also talk about the Soska Sisters' surgical slasher American Mary. So strap in, because it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

WARNING: Both films have themes of rape, which we do discuss at length. Heads up if you're sensitive to the subject matter.

Triple Vanillawhogivesafuck, welcome to the Emmy special!

Okay, it's not really a special since it's never going to win an Emmy, but we did double up! This cast covers episode 5: Ricky Rick Takes Over and episode 6: Triple Vanilla Sex (We are so tired of hearing that phrase). Wiseau surprise-released these episodes, so of course we're back with no break. Hopefully this time..

Hello!

So here's the deal: we're expanding, and we need your help to do it! Our basic goal is to have the cast be self-sustaining, but we have plans to do so much more than that! We have goals and rewards all lined up that will to make this cast more worthwhile for you, our listeners!

More details can be found in this minisode, but meanwhile you can find details here:

Thank you guys so much for listening, and we hope you'll enjoy all we have to offer going forward!

Up Next: Sucker Punch!

Welcome to episode 3, entitled Sliding... Cake. Uuuhhhm.. okay.

Yeah, that title doesn't make any more sense once you know the context. In fact a LOT of things don't make any sense in this show, especially in context. Listen in amazement as we baffle our way through another episode of Tommy Wiseau's The Neighbors. On the way, we uncover a saaaaad truth. Soo yeah, don't miss that.
