  • Epi 228 Coping With The Pain of Parental Estrangement & Overcoming Self Loathing

The Elite Coaches Presents: Dealing with the Estrangement of Your Parents

In this segment, my next guest, TJ Butler, shares her experience in foster care and opens up about her difficult past. Her story is truly inspirational for anyone who has had to cut out a family member.

TJ Butler is an author who lives part-time on a sailboat on the Chesapeake Bay with her husband and dog.  She writes fiction and essays that are not all fun and games, teaches writing workshops, and coaches writers. Her work has appeared in outlets such as Huffington Post, Insider, and various literary journals. She has a degree in a field she will never return to, and she was one of those kids who wanted to be a writer when they grew up. Her black-and-white photography mimics her writing’s gritty themes. Dating Silky Maxwell is her first collection. Connect with her at TJButlerAuthor.com.

  • Epi 227 Why It's So Hard for Empaths to Maintain Friendships?
It's no secret that empaths find it difficult to maintain deep friendships. Many times it has nothing to do with you but rather the other person. Let's face... People do chance and many will let you down in life.
In this episode, we'll go deeper into what's actually happening and how you only need a few genuine friends. Just remember as humans we tend to be more like the people we associate with the most. Many of our friends will leave us while we heal, and that's okay. For many empaths, this can be really uncomfortable, but it's entirely natural. You are not to blame! Don't let the try to convince you otherwise that you've changed! They just want you for their selfish reasons to use you. When your friends choose to part ways, it's a positive indication that you're on the right path to healing! Your energy irritates them especially narcissists.
Remember people change all the time, therefore it's okay to sever relationships that aren't beneficial to you and move on without feeling guilty. Stick around till the end of the podcast and I will give you tips on how to find those friends that add value to your life.

  • Epi 226 Five Ways to Handle People Who Ignore You

Have you ever wondered why certain people only show up when they are in need? Maybe they never give you interest. Many empaths may find themselves working extra hard to please them in an effort to gain some attention, which can be very trigging. This may be a boss or perhaps a long-term romantic partner. Why do they do this and how it reflects their insecurities is evident. It's not you it's them..... Even if people ignore you, you are still a respectable person. You owe yourself to be around people that can communicate with you. You can focus on improving specific social skills that will lessen the likelihood that people will ignore you in the future by determining why they choose to ignore you. But even then most people are poor communicators especially narcissist. This is part of the game plan to use you and take something of value. In this episode I give you 5 tips that will help deal with these types of people. Tune in!

  • Ep.224 Can a Narcissist Really Love Someone?

Do you still love the narcissist? There is nothing to be ashamed about if you still have feelings for the narcissist. Then this episode is for you! Love and respect in a relationship are frequently seen as obligations by narcissists. They consequently come across as entitled and forge a totally skewed relationship. Narcissists frequently believe that being in love entails receiving unceasing attention and love from a partner.
